Amrubicin

Amrubicin is a synthetic anthracycline antibiotic with molecular formula C25H25NO9. It is a specific topoisomerase II inhibitor and functions as a prodrug, converting to the active metabolite ambrucinol. Used primarily as the hydrochloride salt in cancer treatment, especially lung cancer. It acts as an antineoplastic agent, a quinone, a member of tetracenes, a methyl ketone, and a primary amino compound.
