Sertindole

Sertindole is a phenylindole derivative of 1H-indole, substituted at the nitrogen with a p-chlorophenyl group, at position 5 with chlorine, and at position 3 with a piperidin-4-yl group. The piperidine ring is further substituted at the nitrogen with a 2-(2-oxoimidazolidin-1-yl)ethyl group. It functions as a serotonergic antagonist, alpha-adrenergic antagonist, H1-receptor antagonist, and second-generation antipsychotic. It is classified as a phenylindole, organofluorine compound, organochlorine compound, heteroarylpiperidine, and imidazolidinone.
