Taltirelin is an oligopeptide composed of (4S)-1-methyl-2,6-dioxohexahydropyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid, L-histidine, and L-prolinamide linked by peptide bonds. It is a TRH analog. Its tetrahydrate form is approved in Japan for treating spinal muscular atrophy. It functions as a nootropic, neuroprotective, and analgesic agent.
